Rice Terrace of Tegallalang & Natural Hot Springs

Hello there!

IMG_6683Our adventures in Bali definitely had to include the very iconic Rice Terrace of Tegallalang! After a short, bumpy drive north of Ubud, we got out of our vehicle and were amazed of the beauty surrounding us!

The weather was absolutely perfect so the photos turned out really well! πŸ™‚ It also made for a nice stroll through the rice. Pretty cool to see where rice comes from, especially because we eat a LOT of rice! πŸ˜›

IMG_6687The trail is pretty easy to follow, although narrow. We still managed and spent a reasonable amount of time along the path (with photo opportunities of course!). The mountains, clouds, trees, and rice were just beautifully blended together as a terrace.

It’s obvious thatΒ you shouldn’t touch anything or pick up any rice, which was fine. We were completely content with basking in the beauty! After our walk through the Rice Terrace, it was about lunchtime and luckily there is a local restaurant.

IMG_6698One of the best parts about visiting the Rice Terrace was eating the rice grown here along with other local foods! It was a buffet style feast and we definitely took advantage of that! Also, we had a killer view of the Rice Terrace during our meal! πŸ™‚ Look how full my plate is compared to Louis’ plate.. -_-

IMG_6707Once our bellies were filled and eyes satisfied with such sights, we carried on to visit a natural hot spring recommended by our driver. We were feeling a little reluctant at first, unsure of how sanitary it was, but we went anyways. Luckily, there were some private rooms that were hot tub size, so we mostly hung out in one of the rooms. The water from the hot springs actually feel pretty nice! It’s a nice warmth and your skin feels softer afterwards! Every girl’s dream! πŸ˜‰

We also enjoyed seeing / meeting local people instead of being in the high traffic touristy areas all the time, so that was a treat too! Also, a fun note, I don’t think I’ve mentioned, butΒ Louis can speak Malay! Malay is similar to IndonesianΒ whichΒ helped A LOT so we could get to where we needed to go (aaaand to bargain!). With that language benefit, our time there was a lot more enjoyable! πŸ™‚ We were loving Bali so far!

More Bali adventures soon! πŸ™‚
